TECNIUM – Casals Cardona Ind. SA is a family-owned company founded in 1957 and specialises in the manufacture of anticorrosive plastic equipment. It manufactures pumps for moving liquids, fans for moving air and devices and other boilermaking elements for containing corrosive liquids.
In addition, it also provides environmental solutions by combining and adapting various equipment, through custom engineering projects led by its team of consultants.
TECNIUM has a production area of 15,000 m2 and a workforce of 120 people.
It works mainly for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries, among others, and for water and waste treatment plants, providing service to the entire world, thanks to having agents and distributors on the 5 continents and a subsidiary in China.
What need did you have when you hired us?
It all started 20 years ago when we moved and needed to renew the entire IT infrastructure. We chose GESISA for its technological solutions at a reasonable price, its experience and applied methodology, as well as its way of treating clients, always fostering long-term relationships, a philosophy that coincided with ours.
What SOLUTION did GESISA offer you?
GESISA has accompanied us throughout these 20 years:
- He developed our first CRM, which provided us with a lot of value by organizing client and project information.
- When our own ERP reached its limits, GESISA advised us to change it for a standard one. They helped us choose it, accompanied us in the implementation, and customized and adapted the CRM for us. Later, they integrated PuenteSII into the ERP to send SII information to the Tax Agency.
- GESISA recommended Virtualization to us, when it was still a solution that was not widely implemented in medium-sized companies, and then the Cloud. So when the Covid-19 lockdown arrived, we already had the IT infrastructure ready, without having consciously sought it out.
GESISA has advised us and managed the licenses and office tools of Office 365 (connectivity, storage, security, backup, etc.) and has provided us with the tools that allow us to extract the data generated in the ERP (SQL Server) and prepare reports from the Symtrax StarQuery application.
As we have become more digital, we have considered whether we needed our own IT department, but we believe that the size of our company does not justify it and that it provides us with much more value and advantages to have an IT Outsourcing with a partner like GESISA, always available, even on vacation.
